The ARI-Industrial Products Group can provide Aluminum and Steel castings through Corbitt Manufacturing Company and Southwest Steel Casting Company.

The ARI-Industrial Products Group can provide Aluminum (1 to 75 lbs.) and Steel (10 to 4,500 lbs.) castings through its component companies, Corbitt Manufacturing Company and Southwest Steel Casting Company.

Aluminum castings are made at Corbitt Manufacturing Company in the permanent mold process. Permanent mold castings have advantages over other types of molding processes. These include:

Better surface finish for an improved appearance.

Good grain structure permits better strength characteristics and less porosity than sand castings.
Tighter tolerance than sand casting, which means less allowance for required material to machine finish.

Permanent molding also has the capability to cast in parts such as: studs, nuts, bushings, pipes, and any other integral parts. Parts range in size from 1 to 75 lbs.

Steel castings are made at Southwest Steel Casting Company. Southwest Steel Casting Company produces castings from 10 to 4,500 lbs. in the following metals:

Carbon Steel
Low and High Alloy Steel
Stainless Steel
Low Temperature Steel
Heat Resistant Steel

Steel castings are especially adapted for parts that must withstand wear, shocks or heavy loads. They are stronger than either wrought iron or cast iron or malleable iron and are very tough.

Steel castings can be heat treated to bring about the diffusion of carbon or alloying elements, softening, hardening, stress relieving, toughening, improve machineability, increase wear resistance, and removal of hydrogen entrapped at the surface of the casting.
